Greetings Fellow Protests! Join the Post Protest Project and Art Show
I'm creating protest postcards and sending them to every Democractic member of congress (231). My hope is that they will read my postcard and take action. At the very least, they will know how I feel by receiving a message directly from me. This is what democracy and free speech is all about!

I was tired of hearing about all of the junk that is happening with our government (war, lies, corruption) and wanted to take a stand and do something about it.

I will mail the postcards, and then they will take on a second life on this website in the postcard gallery. There, you can see which card was sent to your representative.

I'm also making copies of the postcards (our representatives will have the originals to hang up in their offices if they wish) to display in an art show here in Portland, Oregon.(Time and Place To Be Announced)

Why Postcards?

"...Policticians I know say the letters (or postcards) that are most compelling are those that are hand written, short...and close with a call to action."

-Tom Hartmann, Air America Radio and Author-

Letters do get read. I can attest to this first-hand because I received a reply to a postcard I sent to Senator Ron Wyden's office.

Postcards offer both a picture and a written statement. They are short and to the point.

I figure the busiest politician or staff person can take a few moments to read a postcard and when they do your vioce is heard.

Politicians, unlike corporate executives, are public servants. They are hired by "We the People" and it is their job to listen to "We the People" or else they know that "We the People" will fire them, come next election.

The other great thing about a Postcard Protest is that people can do it today, rain or shine, with or without an organized protest rally.

I am sending a postcard to every Democrat in Congress, but all YOU need to do is create THREE: one to your congressperson from your district and two to your senators. This will cover all of your national representation. You can also send postcards to your state and local representatives (mayor, governor, members of your state congress and senate).

Once you create and send one postcard, you will want to make more about other issues you are passionate about.
